Major Departments and Responsibilities

This County Government has the following Departments:

1.    Civil Affairs Department
In charge of autonomous administration, household registration, religion, folk traditions, conscription, mobilization, public works and construction, funeral services, and other related matters.

2.    Finance Department
In charge of financial administration, public assets, public debts, public treasury, billing, local financial management, and other related matters.

3.    Urban and Rural Development Department
In charge of transportation management, management of the industries, commerce, and retail markets, public industries, publicly owned enterprises, fair trade, residential and building management, urban planning, national land development, and other related matters.

4.    Public Works Department
In charge of transportation works, road works, construction, civil engineering, road management, construction firm management, public facilities, and other related matters.

5.    Water Resources Department
In charge of water works and construction, water resource administration, sewage works, soil and water conservation, mining, and other related matters.

6.    Education Department
In charge of academic management, national education, social education, family education, special education, preschool education, physical and health education, and other related matters.

7.    Agriculture Department
In charge of the production and sales in the agricultural, forestry, fishery, and animal rearing sectors, provide consultation to farmers’ and fishermen's associations, prevention and treatment of animal and plant diseases, fishing construction, conservation of natural ecologies, and other related matters.

8.    Social Affairs Department
In charge of social organizations, social welfare, public assistance, family security, gender equality, volunteer services, and other related matters.

9.    Labor Affairs Department
In charge of labor affairs, labor organizations, labor conditions, labor welfare, human resource development, and other related matters.

10.    Land Administration Department
In charge of cadastral affairs, land rights, land value, land utilization, land expropriation, rezoning, cadastral surveys, general land administration, and other related matters.

11.    Indigenous Peoples Department
In charge of cultural and lifestyle consultation for the indigenous peoples, improving the environment and transport access to indigenous settlements, sustainable development of the settlements, management, development, and utilization of reservations for the indigenous peoples, and other related matters.

12.    Cultural Affairs Department
In charge of library operations, visual arts, art activities, community building, cultural assets, and other related matters.

13.    Hakka Affairs Department
In charge of providing consultation to Hakka industries, cultural preservation, Hakka folk culture and handicraft, Hakka education, professional development, and other related matters.

14.    Information and Tourism Department
In charge of tourism development, international exchange, publicizing county government programs and measures, public relations, public communication, and other related matters.

15.    Research and Evaluation Department
In charge of integrated design and planning, research development, management assessment, information management, dissemination of government measures and orders, public services, and other related matters.

16.    General Affairs Department
In charge of government laws, appeals, mediation, national compensation, public relations, management of this County Government's seals, documents, and files, quality management of purchased goods, general affairs, and other related matters.

17.    Personnel Department
In charge of matters related to personnel management.

18.    Budget, Accounting and Statistics Department
Implement annual budgets and accounting, and compilation of relevant statistics.

19.    Government Ethics Department
Management of civil service ethics.
