The Pingtung County Government joined the Fine Food Australia and expects making hundreds of millions per year.

The Fine Food Australia 2019 ended on the 12th. The Pingtung County Government led eight suppliers to take part in this event, including Culinary First Taiwan Pte. Ltd., Wei-I Foodstuff Co., Ltd., Gen Ya, My Health Diary, Young Sun Frozen Food Co., Ltd., Yi Shiang Food Factory, Horn-Liang and Seven Star. The Pingtung County Government is the only local government leading corporations to join the exhibition. The result was outstanding and it is expected to generate NT$ 130 million a year for suppliers.

According to TAITRA, the Australian population is diverse, including over 1.2 million Chinese. The local food is quite diverse and Asian food is highly accepted. The Pingtung County Government set up a booth in the Taiwan Hall. Distributors, where importers and caterers from different countries stopped by and negotiated for business, including Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, South Korea, Mexico, China and Malaysia.

Li Ching Sheng, the Director General of the Pingtung County Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee, indicated that the Fine Food Australia has been held for a long time and it is held in Melbourne and Sydney every year at different times. It is the largest, the most professional international food exhibition in Oceania. Pingtung Souvenir Special took part in the exhibition in Sydney, the most populated Australian city. Lots of professional buyers negotiated for business and it is expected to make hundreds of millions in a year.

It is the second time Yi Shiang Food Factory joined the exhibition this year. Its main product is the sesame oil product. Famous mom and baby brands and Australian importers were attracted to Yi Shiang Food Factory and they’re negotiating with Yi Shiang Food Factory. Young Sun Frozen Food Co., Ltd. produces frozen edamame. It won the trial sales order of 0.5 containers from restaurants. Gen Ya negotiated with local burger chains for Tapioca ingredients. A Japanese food chain company stopped by Gen Ya’s booth for three days to negotiate on vegetable chips.

Pingtung suppliers are highly confident in increasing the market share in the Australian market through this exhibition. The Pingtung County Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee will follow Pang Meng An’s idea for international marketing, continue to help Pingtung suppliers take part in international exhibitions, promote produce and local specialties of Pingtung, and expand the share in the international market.
